At that time, the small squares were listed at 2.5 inches so that is what I cut them all (48). When I started sewing, something did not look quite right and realized that I had a half inch instead of a quarter inch to sew to the large square. I then came back to this site to make sure I had copied right. I did – but it now has been corrected to a 1.25 inch square. Bummer, I now have to re-cut each little square. Sometimes you just assume too much.

The small squares should be 1.25″.

Not cool…..back to the cutting board, literally. Probably would work on 2.5 inch strips.

Hi Judy, if you are cutting the sashing 3″ wide (for 2.5″ finished), you would cut the star squares 1.75″.
