Thank you, I’m just not ???? on all the cutting and sewing, but I love your gradient color choices. I might try a few triangles before to make sure my points all line up. Trial and error I guess! I should be good by the 3rd quilt ????. I’ll keep you posted on how it’s going.

Hi Cathy, you could make QSTs from squares for the full blocks, but not the half blocks in this quilt. The biggest issue with making the full block QSTs from squares is that you don't have as much freedom with the fabric layout. If you want a gradient effect like in our quilt, it's nearly impossible to do that way. If you are after an overall scrappy look, then you may not care about that and you could just make the QSTs from squares. Hope that helps!

Good morning, I am just starting to cut my squares to 7.5” blocks. Is there any reason to cut them into 4 small squares and not just make QST’s and HST’s? I’m new to this whole process but with lessons I’ve learned how to make QST’s and HST’s and think an hourglass square might help me keep some of the squares on point. I’d love to hear your thoughts. -Cathy ????
