Weekend Market Tote

Say hello to the Weekend Market Tote!  This project has been in the works for a while now, and since we have had a recent break in obligations, it finally came to the surface.

We love Cotton + Steel’s collection of canvas fabrics, and especially the Tokyo Train Ride line that is prominently featured on this bag.

The wraparound border print lends itself to the continual wraparound pockets on the outside (see below).

We used Rifle Paper Co’s Les Fleur canvas for the back pocket to showcase the cute Tokyo map.

The binding, straps, and bottom are the Tile Indigo print from Alexia Abegg’s Mesa line.

We went fabric shopping at our local quilt shop and purchased these swell canvas rolls for future projects (picture work aprons).  Aren’t they a perfect fit?

The inside also has wraparound pockets on two sides.  We used more prints from Tokyo Train Ride in cotton for these.

The handles are long enough to put over your shoulder, but short enough to hold in your hand, or in other words, practically perfect in every way!

We love this versatile tote!  Large enough for books and your lunch, or small enough for the necessities for a weekend away.  Look for the pattern soon!
