Piece & Love Quilt Along: Week 4

Welcome to Week 4 of the Piece & Love Quilt Along! This week, we’re putting all those beautiful blocks together and finishing the quilt top. We’re getting so close to finishing this gorgeous quilt!

If you haven’t started putting any of the blocks together yet, you’ll start by piecing those. The heart blocks go together in a certain way, in order to properly add the background pieces. Make sure to follow the steps in the pattern carefully, so you don’t have to rip out any seams.

Next, piece all of the stripes. Backstitch at the beginning and end of each stripe to prevent popping seams before quilting. Also, be careful to line up the seams, particularly within the heart and where the heart and background meet. Those will be the most noticeable spots if you are off by too much.

That’s it! The quilt top is complete. Note: If you are doing twin size, you will have one extra stripe there on the bottom.

Make sure that everything is pressed well. This will make quilting go a lot more smoothly.
