Planning Your Quilting Room

Your sewing space doesn’t have to be big, but we think it does have to inspire you. Whether it’s a vase of fresh flowers for your kitchen table, a new line of fabric, or a colorful rotary cutter, find something that inspires you to bring your quilty dreams to life!

Both of us have recently moved into new quilting spaces. We would love to show you around and tell you about the spaces we use to create.

Diane’s House

We’re lucky to have a dedicated office space in Diane’s new house. This is where we assemble paper patterns, put together packages, and store our merchandise and supplies.

The office also holds much of Diane’s fabric stash, organized by color and wrapped around comic book boards. (see affiliate link below)

Diane’s sewing room has a brand new cutting table, which is a repurposed kitchen island from IKEA, a framed crazy quilt block made by one of her great grandmas, rainbow thread display, comfy red stools, a tv for entertainment, and the oversized ironing board we made ourselves.

Audrey’s House

Audrey’s sewing room is in the basement, so it doesn’t have the same glorious daylight as Diane’s, but we are lucky to have the dedicated space for it.  Highlights include the rainbow scrap baskets, jelly roll rug, and custom built cutting table.

We also love those rolling carts with trays. Each tray is removeable and holds its own project for easy access and storage! (see affiliate link below)

For the experienced quilt maker, having a dedicated space in your home to sew can foster creativity and provide uninterrupted concentration. While having a large space comes in handy, any small area in your home that can accommodate fabric storage, machinery, craft tables, and working space is all you need.

If you are looking to create a quilting room in your home, look no further. Redfin reached out to quilting experts from Vancouver, BC to Miami, FL, including ourselves, to get our best tips on creating the ultimate quilting room. Click here to see what we had to say.

We hope you enjoyed taking a peek into our quilting rooms! Our testers are helping us put the final touches on our upcoming quilt pattern, called Sky Feathers. Stay tuned for release day in late June!

    1. Hi Marie, it’s right after the (see link below) text. There’s the Amazon logo, a photo (which doesn’t show the cart very well), the title “We R Memory Keepers”, and then a little button that says “shop now”. Click on that!
