Quilts We’ve Made: Daphne’s Stoplight Quilt

We’ve been finishing a lot of quilts lately!  This twin size cutie was a necessary finish, however.  Audrey’s youngest daughter recently graduated to a “big girl” bed, i.e. a twin size bed instead of the small toddler bed she’s been in for a while.  This called for a new quilt!  Using Woodland Spring precuts from Riley Blake, we got to work.

Inspiration for this quilt was taken from Fons & Porter’s Stoplight Quilt.  If you look closely, there are six blocks that are different than the stoplight shape, as 15-patches instead.

For the quilting, we did a free-motion overall loops and flowers pattern on our Handi Quilter Avante.

Using leftover jelly roll strips, we did a scrappy binding, which works perfectly for this quilt.

All ready to snuggle up!  We sure love being able to make things for our families to use, and we think there’s no better way to show them that you care.  What is your favorite part about quilting?
