As we’ve been sharing over the last few weeks, we have four new patterns that will be released next week(!) at Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. We’ve already shown the Mini Modern Quilt Bundle (although you haven’t seen the new cover quilts yet!) and the Candy Stripes Apron & Table Runner. Another one of our upcoming patterns is the Woodland Wander Quilt. If you follow us on Instagram, we showed this quilt up on the design board way back in December last year.
This quilt is a forest of evergreen trees that is easily made from a stack of 10″ squares. We made ours with holiday-themed fabric for the festive look, but you could really use anything. Wouldn’t it make a cute quilt for a little boy’s room or the cabin in the woods?
Our quilts both feature Evergreen fabric by BasicGrey for Moda. The first quilt we made was Audrey’s version, which features solid trees on solid backgrounds. For Diane’s quilt, the tree backgrounds stayed solid, but the tree pieces were swapped around for a fun, scrappy look. Diane’s version also adds a pair of optional borders. We quilted these ourselves on our long-arm quilting machine, a Handi Quilter Avante 18. Each quilt takes forty-two 10″ squares for the trees. The optional borders add a bit of extra yardage: 1/3 for the small border and 1 yard for the large border. Finished size is 51″x61″ or 62″x71″ with borders. Perfect size for snuggling by the fireplace with a mug of hot cocoa!Create your own enchanting forest using 10″ squares. Stack, cut, arrange, and sew for this striking display of trees, holiday or otherwise. With options for mixed-up scrappy trees and borders, this precut-friendly quilt is versatile and goes together in a snap!
Stay tuned for our Quilt Market Pattern Release next Wednesday, where you could win one of our new patterns in our celebration giveaway!
