Quilts We’ve Made: Beautiful Baby Girl Quilts

Before the arrival of the Little King, Audrey welcomed three baby girls into their family.  Of course, with each new baby came a new quilt.  All of these quilts were made by Diane as part of grandma’s baby gifts.

First in line is Molly’s scrappy striped quilt. Her nursery was decorated in pink and green with bird accents.Nursery

The quilting was done with variegated thread in a simple meander.

Next to come along was little Amelia, with a brightly-colored pennant nursery.

Her quilt was a perfect match to her room, with its bright colors and scrappy diamond pennants.  The quilting was done in a series of concentric circles in light blue thread.Scrappy Pennant Baby Quilt 2

The baby size Chunky Chevron was actually made twice, once for another of Diane’s granddaughters, and then immediately after for Audrey’s third girl, Daphne.Chunky Chevron Baby Quilt

The rainbow of colors made the Chunky Chevron easy to match with Daphne’s pink, blue, and gray nursery theme.  This was quilting in loops with a combination of white and variegated thread.Chunky Chevron Baby Quilt 2

Baby quilts are so much fun to make.  Because they are smaller, they don’t take as much time, and it’s less intimidating to try a new technique.  And of course, the best part about a baby quilt is the baby!
