Sock Monkey Family Reunion

sock-monkey-family-reunion-3It’s reunion time, and the sock monkey family didn’t want to be left out of the summer festivities.  We have gathered the siblings and cousins for one final group shot before they have to go their separate ways. sock-monkey-and-bedClara Belle is relaxing in a sun dress and bloomers with matching hair ties that coordinate perfectly with the Mini Chunky Chevron quilt.  The fabulous bed was handcrafted by Diane’s son, Clark, using all mortise and tenon construction.

Notice the Chinese cousin, Ling Ling Sue, and the chopsticks in her hair.  She took away the Most Distance Traveled Award.

sock-monkeysA special shout out to those who Skyped in, Donna the tennis instructor and Mortimer from South of the border (the dingle balls give it away).

By way of explanation, all of these monkeys were made for members of the family and dressed to reflect individual personalities.  they were a lot of fun to make and even more fun to gather them back together.  We will be doing a sock monkey tutorial on our blog in the upcoming weeks, so watch out for that.  We have two new babies who still need their own monkeys.signature
