Nordic Frost Quilt Along: Week 3
Welcome to Week 3 in the Nordic Frost Quilt Along! This week, we will continue piecing and make the rest of the blocks for the quilt. Begin by making the corner blocks: Step 7 in the Nordic Frost pattern or page 49 in the Piece & Love Book.
Once you have the nine sections of the corner blocks pieced, sew them into rows, and sew the rows together. All four corner blocks are the same, so you make all of them at once.
Once the corner blocks are done, you can move on to the next step. This is the only place where the book and the pattern are just a little bit different, but it’s only in terminology. In the pattern, you’ll make the Vertical Center Strips and the Horizontal Center Strips.
In the book, they are called the Middle Edge Blocks and Arrow Blocks. The pattern will have you sew these together, but in the book you will wait until next week to do that. We are following the book, so here are our finished blocks this week:
To recap, this week you will sew through Step 9 in the pattern or page 51 in the book. Next week, we will finish putting the quilt top together. We’re getting so close!
