Wrecked Angles Quilt

Our latest quilt, Wrecked Angles, features a fast and fun modern design that makes the most of 10″ squares. This pattern is featured in Make Modern Magazine Issue 41 (affiliate link*), along with 9 other quilt patterns. Make Modern is a bi-monthly digital quilt magazine that is jam packed with patterns and articles.

You can buy just this issue, or sign up for a subscription to keep the modern patterns coming. Since this magazine is based in Australia, all prices are in Australian dollars, so we get a great deal with a .75/1 exchange rate. That means each issue is only about $10!

For our quilt, we used 10″ squares of Warp + Weft fabrics from Ruby Star Society. It’s been a popular line, so it may be difficult to find, but you can check out a wide selection of 10″ squares from some of our favorite fabric shops:

This quilt finishes at 54″ x 63″, so it’s the perfect throw size to make as a quick gift. The possibilities are really endless with this one.

We found a snuggly flannel owl print for the backing that matches perfectly with the orange and navy blue on the front. We love flannel backings! You can also see the the quilting we chose for this quilt is a triangles on a string motif. We alternated the direction of the triangles on each row of quilting to nest within each other.

We hope you liked this look at Wrecked Angles. It’s a great balance between traditional and modern quilting, and we think it makes a great statement. Get your digital copy of Make Modern Issue 41 here!
